I missed my Revision Goal

About four-ish months ago, I posted on my Facebook page that I would cross the finish line at the end of March 2025. Developmental edits for Project Ellexis would finally be DOOOONE! The narrative being in better shape, making more sense than the first absolutely shoddy draft, before looking for copy editing and Beta readers.

Yeah, that did not happen. Not even close.

That is what happens when I set my own deadlines for big projects as a hobbyist. I tend to imagine blitzing through, knowing what to fix on each page when I scroll down to it. In reality, this is my first time doing it and it would take me more time. I have come to realize that it is okay. Revisions are challenging, marathoning it over months and months. So, that is all still going; I ain’t about to set another one.

What is going to happen is simple: I finish it when I do. Maybe the end of the summer? Maybe the end of this Fall? Only time tells. What I can do is share another excerpt-

Naw. I would rather you get the full experience of the book!

So, where am I now? A few pages from finishing up Chapter 5. That one became two chapters. Its a fair amount improved, you know, some better storytelling and new portions. The essence of the story remains. That puts this whole fixer-upper draft at abooouut… over one-third. Two more until the halfway marker.

Anyway, yep! That is where I am at as of March 31st. I REALLY wanna get this thing done. At the same time, I REALLY want to do a good job. I hope that it shows in the end.
